You also need to know a few things about Racehorse swimming in the open sea. If you are not an expert, start from the shallow water and make sure that the footing is firm. Give your horse time to acclimatize to the waves and splashing water. Move your pony about first to make sure the landscape sticks to its mind. Once he seems to understand, take him into the water maintaining a short distance from the shoe line.


When your horse begins to swim, swim by his side and try to hold his mane. Don’t use reins to tow for this will create pressure around his mouth and take care lest the reins you are dragged under water.


As you continue with open sea Racehorse swimming, you are informed that your horse will likely get tired in between five and 10 minutes. This is as a result of the sea waves and the under currents, so make sure during these timings you go back to the shore. Following these directions will ensure that your horse gets the stamina it requires for racing while being safe.
